Desk Plates!

Let me start with explaining what I teach. I teach math, science, and a language arts component in English  to bilingual students. So, last year being my first year it was a learning experience. Some of the things I noticed that I wanted to incorporate for next year was to say the English alphabet and sounds daily, have misspelled words on their desk for frequent use, and an easily accessible hundreds chart. So I created desk plates to encompass all of these things! I did not leave a space for their name because I have two classes throughout the day and it would be to confusing, so I just created the resources. There is a hundreds chart for easy access, there is commonly misspelled words, and there is an alphabet with highlighted vowels so that we can point to the letters each morning and say the sounds and they know the highlighted vowels have two sounds to say! I am excited to be able to use these next year. I love all of the colors so I think I want to put a different color for each table! I hope you can use these as well! :)

Addition and Subtraction Flashcards!!

I am finally getting to my first post! I just finished teaching summer school last week and am finally started with my summer! I have so many projects I want to complete this summer and I now have one checked off my list. One of my goals for my second graders next year is to REALLY know their addition and subtraction facts! So I created some flashcards that I like better than the ones our curriculum provides... Our curriculum only provides addition facts for second grade and I think the really need to practice subtraction as well. So that lead me to creating a more uniform set! I hope you can use them with your kiddos as well! I plan to have my students cut them out at the beginning of the year and keep them in an envelope and practice them everyday! I also am going to make a few sets and laminate them to put in a math center. They will write the answers with dry erase markers and then pair up the fact families! ** Please print double sided to save paper :)
